Petroleum Engineering Scholarships – Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) scholarship funds are available from many sources for students interested in pursuing careers in the oil and gas industry. Scholarships are offered throughout the world by SPE, the SPE Foundation, local SPE sections, and others.

The Woman’s Auxiliary to the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (WAAIME) will accept applications for its scholarships from Jan. 15 through Feb. 5, 2019. Amounts of the scholarships may range up to USD $5,000. Most are in the USD $2,000 to 3,000 range. WAAIME awards scholarships to female and male students who are pursuing degrees in the earth sciences including mining, geological sciences, metallurgy, petroleum, mineral sciences, materials science and engineering, mineral economics, chemical engineering, and other related studies. Although WAAIME scholarships are administered through the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, student members of any AIME member society (AIST, SME, SPE, TMS) are eligible and encouraged to apply. The number and amount of scholarships awarded is dictated by the funds available and by the financial needs of the applicants. Geology Scholarships and Grants – Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists (AEG)
The AEG Foundation is dedicated to advancing research, education, and public awareness in the field of engineering geology and the related fields of environmental geology and hydrogeology. The programs of the Foundation are supported by public and corporate donations and by bequests. The AEG Foundation manages ten funds including four scholarships.
Chemical Engineering Scholarships – American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)
AIChE gives scholarships to exemplary high school seniors to encourage them in their endeavors in chemical engineering. The Institute is committed to introducing high school students to careers in fuels and petrochemicals through its programs, helping to fuel the industry’s need for top talent.
Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum Engineering Scholarships – American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME)
The AIME Benjamin J. Fairless Scholarships assist full-time undergraduate students who are interested in careers in the iron and steel industry and majoring in the fields of metallurgy, materials science, chemical, electrical, mechanical, industrial, and computer engineering at accredited U.S. colleges or universities.
